Photographer's Note
I was about to conclude my shooting inside the church of Bantayan and on my way out, the massive door caught my fancy as light passes to its holes and gaps.
I also noticed that there was a kid who was also about to go. To better describe the scale of the door, I patiently waited for him to proceed the exit then snapped my camera.
I also included a B/W composition of the image in my workshop. Let me know which is better.
Happy Holidays to ALL!

I like the coloured one. A good idea to wait for the child exiting the church. Now we can understand the real size of the door. I like the little points of light that come across the door. Great shot!!!

Hi Andrew,
Very good control of the extreme lighting contrast here. Nice inclusion of the boy to add scale of dimension. Well captured and composed. Well done! tfs
What a shame you struck bad weather in Bantayan for the sunrise and sunset scenes. Another option for sunrise/sunset scene would have been Lawis at the tip of the island. Judging from the seaweeds washed in the shores from your previous photo, I say you had a stormy weather... would have been an adventure ride on a pumpboat from Malapascua :) Best wishes for 2008.
Cheers,
Renier

aside from being big, this church door looks so old and have prevailed the tests of time! the framing in one way or the other reminds me of the NG logo..:-). i am looking forward that someday your work (at sa akin din, siyempre) be on the pages of it..dream on, dream on

nice shot really interesting, maybe a better result if you move a bit to the left side so nothing is seen from outside, just maybe

Hi Drew, this is the second photo within the day posted abut Bantayan. I was here years ago and never had the chance to see much of the town. This is a well seen opportunity of a portraiture shot...i like also how the light strikes through the openings of the door. a very challenging shot to take against the nright light as can be seen outside. Rgds, Alex
