Photographer's Note

Picture of the Chinese-Filipino Frenship Pagoda, near the provincial Capitol Building, which I got around 2005 using film and Canon 300v then scaned. From the pagoda you get an excellent view of the South China Sea.

San Juan features an excellent beach, which attracts surfers who are eager to enjoy the well-shaped waves, which occur during most of the year, with the exception of the summer months. Global pinoy.com

SAN FERNANDO in La Union, as opposed to San Fernando in Pampanga, is the capital of La Union province and a good place to rest up for a few days during a tour of the north. The city itself comprises the usual jumble of jeepneys and fast-food restaurants, but nearby, especially to the north, there are some nice little resorts on the beach. The main road is Quezon Avenue, which runs through the city from south to north. Outside the city limits, Quezon Avenue becomes the National Highway. source text. Hostel Bookers .com
