Spasskaya Tower was built in 16th century and it is the main of the Kremlin ramparts. The structure got fire many times during its history. There was a beautiful chapel where we can see this arch, it was rebuilt during 19th century and demolished by the Soviet government. The communist star is located where there was the beheaded eagle before. This sculpture in front is located where there was a monument to Czar Nicholas II, the personage we can see here today is Musa Jalil, a Soviet hero who died in a concentration camp where he was killed by Nazis. He was born in Kazan and here he looks like breaking the barbed wired

A Torre Spasskaya foi erguida no século 16 e é a principal das muralhas do Kremlin (o castelo). A estrutura pegou fogo muitas vezes durante sua história; havia uma capela onde está hoje aquele arco, ela pegou fogo e foi reconstruída no século 19, mas foi demolida pelos soviéticos. Da mesma forma a águia de duas cabeças que adornava o topo da torre foi trocada pela estrela comunista.
Essa estátua que aparece na foto ocupa o lugar onde antes estava a estátua do Czar Nicolau II, o que vemos hoje é um herói soviético, chamado Musa Jalil, que morreu num campo de concentração nazista. Ele nasceu em Kazan e aparece quebrando os arames farpados.
