This is - one of the bridges in Vladikavkaz.


Vladikavkaz was founded in 1784 as a fortress during the Russian conquest of the Caucasus and was for many years the main Russian military base in the region.
Many prominent people have left their mark in the history of Vladikavkaz.
Due to their fortress became more attractive to those passing through it. According to the decree of Emperor Alexander II fortress Vladikavkaz with attached thereto a serf forstate was turned into the city. Vladikavkaz began to develop rapidly in the second half of the 50-ies of the XIX century. The Great Silk Road passed through the town, and this very much has affected its development.
In 1863, Vladikavkaz, gained the status of the regional town.
In the city was built and opened to traffic the first iron bridge across the Terek - Olginsky.
You see in this photo the bridge that was built on the site of the first bridge, this bridge is called as the first bridge cast-iron bridge. People call it so.
