Photographer's Note

As I told you before, Stalin created many skyscrapers around central Moscow to show as powerful was the Soviet nation. One of the smaller was Peking Hotel.
It was built between 1939 and 1958, the building structure became paralyzed during ten years because the II War and the ideas about as the building would be used were changed many times and at the end they decided transform it in a luxury hotel to celebrate the friendship between China and Soviet Union. But during inauguration this friendship almost was gone, anyway the place was used a lot by KGB members and had the only restaurant in the country where you could to taste exotic meals.
This is a view of the huge clock that worked for many decades, it was a giant pendulum clock and when it broke nobody got to restore it and became an electronic one, but the original machine is preserved behind.
The hotel is one of the most famous of the city and you can stay here. In this photo you can see they were restoring the façade, pay attention in the communist signs in the adornments.
