L'église de Saint Nicolas des Marins a vraiment un charme particulier. Durant mon séjour à Piter, mon hôte qui travaillait là bas m'a invité à assister à une messe et malgré mes réticences initiales, je ne l'ai pas regretté pour l'ambiance si particulière et la beauté des chants orthodoxes.

I`m a great fan of russian church architecture and this is a great shot of this wonderful cathedral.Fantastic light at the domes and good composition with the trees at both sides and the woman walking to the cathedral.

Hello,
a wonderful view with pleasing and soft colours - the blue of the architectural details and those of the snow complement each other splendidly. The sharpness as well as the perspective are very good. And the touch of humanity is very appropriate under this circumstances.

effectivement, beaucoup de bleu dans cette jolie photo: celui de la cathédrale, celui du ciel et même celui de la neige qui prend cette teinte, le tout bien réhaussé par le jaune éclatant des coupoles. St Petersbourg a décidement bien une architecture à elle.

Wow, what a beautiful shot! The combination of the warm light on the cathedral and the blue and white colour of the building makes this enchanting. The effect is enhanced by the golden domes of the church, which really glow. I also like the addition of the person, which gives this a sense of scale. Well done!

Hi Thomas,
I like the photo, it´s colors and the trees framing the photo on the sides.
I´m in doubt however if it wouldn´t have been better to take the shot a bit closer and with a smaller angle of your lens, maybe at 18-30mm. Most likey you would have gotten the church on it like you have now, but also more of the side which now is covered by the fence. Alternatively you could move to the middle of the walkway so you have an equal part of the fence on it on both sides. The woman wouldn´t have been in the left corner if that was the idea but I don´t think you always should follow the rules for their sake if you get this in my opinion not optimal POV. Just some suggestions.

Excellent POV and composition. Your lighting is great with the church being in sunlight and the rest of the photo is shade. The eye is led through the photo by the lighting on the church.

Très jolie photo dans l'ensemble. La lumière fait bien ressortir la dorure des coupoles. Par contre, je pense qu'il fallait corriger un peu les lignes verticales tombantes sur Photoshop.

Belle lumière qui éclaire cette magnifique église, cependant il me semble voir un petit tilt à droite et un défaut de perspective au niveau des piliers de chaque côté.
Je te conseille le logiciel ShiftN qui aurait pu te redresser tout cela très facilement.

This is really beautiful lighting on the golden domes of this Orthodox St. Nicholas Cathedral. Its great advantage is the sharpness and light. The snow path also adds to the framing. Thank you for your note. I'm glad you were able to experience the Orthodox mass, something I've never done myself but would like to someday.
