The Travelator, a photo from Central Area, Central

Photographer's Note

A common sight in Airports and Train Stations is the Travelator. A moving sidewalk in essence like it's cousin the escalator, with an average speed of 3km/hr up to 9km/hr (Gare Montparnasse train station in Paris, France). This one; located below The Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.

Hi Dan,

I was wondering if the colours were real, and I see you had a great idea giving this blue effect. It could almost have been natural, for an airport for example. Usually I'm not fond of tilt, but here it fits perfectly to the movement. Well done !

It always funny to see those installation completely empty, while they have been designed for crowded passages :o)

This is a very effective shot. I think the blur you've added really gives a great sense of movement. The colour really gives a sense of being underground or in an enclosed space, and as Youssef comments about the lack of people...it kind of gives an eerie feel to the shot. There's almost something "other-worldly" about it!

Hey Dan, atmospheric photo, is the blur at the top post processing or due to the camera movements?

I think its a great photo ai really like the blue tones. Looks futuristic.

Very well seen and executed. The title is smart and the image does have a very sci-fi atmosphere, strongly enhanced by the neon cast. I do not quite understand the apparent movement on the left and right(incoming train?), but he image is outstanding.
