A Lions Pride..., a photo from Woodlands, North

Photographer's Note

This shot was taken a few months ago while out on a walk here in Singapore. I was out looking for some interesting nature shots when I entered this clearing, and happened to notice this gorgeous Lion sitting atop some rocks staring right at me. I think she saw me...

Thankfully, it was on a nature walk through Singapore's Zoological Gardens when I captured this shot.

This beautiful lion is still the Queen of animals. But the Queen of a narrow world.
The capture is of an excellent quality.
It is really not a peaceful look in her eyes.

What a natural setting for this excellent capture. This is very unlike anything seen in a zoo. The colour, lighting, and contrast are all superb, as is the clarity. Well framed and cropped as well. The tufts of grass between her paws somehow enhances perfectly. I like it.

This is one of my favourites for sure. Just fantastic...! Superb sharpness and colours and excellent angle. Love the way the lioness is looking at the lens and the way the background is blurred. Wonderful shot

Just saw this on the home page. Wonderful portrait with perfect DOF. The BG is nicely blurred. Good thing she was in the zoo because you are looking like breakfast:)

fantastic photograph. composition perfect, lighting is just right, and the eyes of the cat look so damn dangerous, its as if shes sayin' click me fast or else...

olá, great shot of this lion! it looks that he is posing just for you! A good example how zoos can help us to know more about wild life, even if this is not a good way of living to the lion. Great sharpness and compositon. congratulation. pedro
