I've been seeing a few references here recently to "bokeh" which, I gather (and please correct me if I'm wrong), refers to the effect created by having an unfocused area in the picure. In this image, I like the texture of the icicle, but I like the radial effect of the blurred tree branches even more.
PP: I enhanced the blue tones a little to accentuate the chilliness of the image.

i like this picture clare. the trees in the background, out of focus, have a nice fractal feeling to them. it's a great contrast to the perfect sharpness of the icicle.

such a simple shot, but well executed.

i agree with stig, nice to see you making the most of winter! :)
