Gwangjang market in Seoul is a bustling, old style market typical of what I have seen across Asia, but it contrasts so much with the ultra-modern neon streets of Seoul. It feels like Korea has a great balance of modernity and tradition.
The food is this market has all the Korean food you fear and crave, it has not be gentrified or cleaned up in any way, it simply serves needs, and in such a wonderfully chaotic way.

Good observational photograph. Of course without the smoking man, there wouldn't be much going on, but put him next to the food counter (octopus?), and there's plenty of interest!

Ah gotta love those ocky tentacles, and the guy taking a drag from his ciggie right next to the food. Jeez he'd be crucified in Australia! But par for the course in Asia, and this attitude is what I love about the Asians, they don't give a rat's a*se. And this is also why I love markets, especially fishmarkets. Great idea the B&W and I like the effect of the grain.
