Haemi Rice Harvest, a photo from Choongcheongnamdo, Nord

Photographer's Note

A local in the small town of Haemi, in rural South Korea, begins harvesting the rice with a machete. In the old days they would do the whole field like this, with many young men employed. These days, however, they just cut away enough to allow the rice harvesting truck/machine to get into the field, and the task is done in hours with minimal labour.

Hello Justin,

Exactly is the harvest a little bit other than here in the western countries
Also the city with skyscrapers in background makes your picture attractive
The choice of your angle makes these picture excellent.
These picture cares for depth and perspective.
Very well composition, nice presentation too.

Il est étonnant ce contraste entre ce milieu rural du premier plan et la ville et ses immeubles à l'arrière.Bien vu ce personnage dans la composition.J'apprécie également le contraste entre les deux principaux plans de cette image.

Mankind is progressing both in the agriculture as well in photography.
It seems to me that until a few days ago photographed the analog camera, but the years go by.
Beautiful photo, beautifully positioned worker in relation to the composition, beautiful golden color shades.
I like the b & w city landscape in the background.
