Photographer's Note

Here is me again with more Taroko Gorger pics. I simpli had to upload one photo of Croatia yesterday as to keep up some equality between mine Croatian and Taiwanese postings.

This one of the Sibao terraces. You can also see the road winding arround it. Here is what is said about it in the "Trails of Taroko":

"Heading west from the Huoran Pavilion you will come to the large river terrace formation of Sibao after a few minutes drive. Conglomerate faces along the side of the road provide an excellent view of the Liwu River. Channel erosion combined with the uplifting movement of the Earth's crust formed this terrace that stands over 500 meters above the current riverbed...
...Anthropologist have discovered pieces of pottery that are believed to have been left beind by people of the late Neolithic Age. Later the Taroko people came into the area and settled in and around the area and today there are many decendants of these people as well as of retired servicemen who stayed behind to plant vegetables and fruit after finishing their work on the Central Cross-Island Highway."

Technical note:

I have enahnced the colors a bit, by adding some intensity and luminance. The sky was highlighted in PS, and the levels were adjusted there to reduce the burn, initiated by the strong sunlight.

I hope you like it. Alan
