Thailand - Koh Phi Phi Don

The largest island of the Phi Phi archipelago, Koh Phi Phi Don, actually consists of two islands connected by a narrow strip of flat land.
That narrow strip houses the largest village of the island and is also the place with most of the hotels, hostels, restaurants, bars, shops, etc.

The success of the Koh Phi Phi islands as a tourist destination mainly arose after the island Koh Phi Phi Leh became famous by its appearance in the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Since a few days also Thailand, the country that welcomes 39 million tourists per year, has closed its borders because of the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.
Social gatherings are banned, domestic travel is restricted and all but essential shops are shut.
