Photographer's Note
While waiting for a restaurant to open, we were shooting pictures of the homeward bound traffic.
Motor Scooters and cycles abound in Bangkok, they comprise nearly half of the vehicles on the road. They dart in and out of traffic, terrifying me with a quick appearance nearby. Thankfully I'm not driving. Many of the vehicles carry large loads or more than one passenger. There are even motorcycle taxis. Cycle taxi drivers wear orange vests.
Some bikes carry as many as four passengers: mother, father and 2 children. It is the law that a motor cycle helmet must be worn but this doesn't seem to apply to children.

Hello Pat,
Great focus and sharpness. I like how you kept the bg blurred. Also the uniformity of brown-grey colours is great. A fine picture, thanks for sharing it.
Cheers.

Hi Pat!
Great daily life shot. Good photo work and interesting to see this in 2011.
Whan I was a young (the age this girl) this scene was usual in Portugal too. Safety was not an issue.

Hello Pat,
In this country, it seems easier to photograph motor bikes than cars !!! The little girl seems very comfortable between the arms of her daddy... Still a good picture of these moments of street, the picture quality is again a success, thank you Pat.
With all my friendships of Versailles where we breath fresh air now and see you soon,

Interesting typical everyday scene with father and daughter, and I like how you blurred the background and isolate the family in the bike. Congratulations!

Hello Pat,
At least there are only two persons on this motorbike, I have seen up to five..!
You have captured the curious expression of that little cutie well, hopefully nothing will happen to her in that chaotic traffic...
A well balanced composition, accurate DoF to isolate the subject in the setting!
Greetings,

Hey Pat!
I didn't know you were in TE too!
I just came upon your name by chance in commenting the photo of a friend...
Well, obviously it's quite natural! We all come from TE! (:-)
But I was used to see you only in PF and it didn't came to my mind that you could be here too...
Well, I was posting very rarely here, lately but since PF seems on the verge of dying... and I still have some good friends here who I don't want to loose, I decided to add some photos... (:-)
I like a lot this capture, so well framed and neat and expressive with the man and the lovely child well at focus while all the other scooters are blurred. This makes the image very incisive in my view. I guess you had to click the shutter in a hurry and so the result is excellent.
A typical oriental scene (which was frequent in south Italy too some decades ago).
Well done,
Donato

Hi Pat,
A nice snap shot on the street as life goes on. Not the most please shot of the father and daughter as they head home of going somewhere, but that is real life as it happen, not always happy and cheerful, they look rather tire. Big city life in Asia can be more stressful than here in the U.S. Poluttion, traffic, heat can really get to you.
