Photographer's Note

Our school's sports day and I'm taking some photos. This is the final baton change in a 100 m relay. Armed with my wide angle I jumped into the fray !! There is an interesting story behind this capture that I would like to share. Everything was happening very, very quickly as I panned the shot. BUT afterwards..during processing, I noticed I had made some good choices... as to the point of view etc. At the time of the shoot, I wasn't aware that I had placed that long line in just the right spot. I have talked to lots of other photographers about this phenomenon...i.e. doing something good without thinking about it. When first I noticed this kind of thing happening, I thought I was 'just lucky'..but when it occurs in lots of captures you realize there is something else at work. Anyway ..I'm starting to ramble but I would be interested in comments. Processing involved vignetting to stop the eye wandering and bring it to rest on the subject and the focal point. Gausian blur to B/G people and dodging to main characters...uncropped.
