This picture was taken right outside the Turkmen capital Ashgabat, on one of the four highways leading towards the city. In the distant background you can just about see the first skyscrapers of Ashgabat.
I like the idea of arrows pointing to nowhere, so that makes for a nice addition to my series on Turkmenistan.


Turkemnistan's largest city (Ashgabat, 500.000) and its second largest city, Turkmenbabad (230.000) are connected by a daily train, one daily flight and a hand full of daily busses. And that's about as much inter-city traffic as you can get.
