Photographer's Note
One of the classic public spaces in the world, the Registan is smaller than one might think from its reputation, but it still manages to impress - especially when caught in the late afternoon sunlight.

Honestly, I call this place impressive no matter how large or small. We don't see enough photos of Uzbekistan. This is a photo that makes me hope you'll post a lot more.
Sincerely,
Kate

Hi Dan,
It's a gorgeous shot from Samarkand. Although I've seen a number of detail shots before, the panoramic shot is much more impressive. But I think a camera and the human eye don't function exactly the same way. Certainly, charge-coupled-devices (ccds) are far more sensitive than the eye could ever be, they cannot replicate the eye for the latitude of light perception in given scene. I'm going to offer a ws. I hope you don't mind, but I would like to think that you saw it slightly differently.
Warm regards,
Bulent
