Dai Ninh lake, a photo from Lam Dong, South East

Photographer's Note

Located 45km from Dalat centre, DaiNinh Lake was formed by a dam for hydroelectricity. The place used to be an immense valley of green is now full of water. Not only its environment has been changed but also the resident’s life; the farmer became the fisherman. The rich potential of fish also attract hundred of fishermen, who came from the South.

A delicate and beautiful shot, contrasting the sharpness of the boat with the haziness of the misty background. You captured the light superbly, especially the way it shines on the water. Despite the slow movement of the small boat, the photo has a great stillness about it. Truly a superb photo. Great work.

The backlight is so well handled, plenty of subtle information on the elements.

Howdy LyLong,

A beautiful atmospheric scene in blue hues of the fisherman & boat with the background fishing net and solitary tree, with sun attempting to burn through.

Concerning dams, they are archaic and obsolete technology. Electric energy is created more efficiently and economically, and most importantly with little negative impact on the environment by wind mills and solar panels. And water for drinking and farming can be efficiently provided by modern piping systems.
