Photographer's Note
Welcome to runners paradise. This is Malecón. A similar shot of runners running down this road in Distance Running magazine made me decide to run Marabana marathon.
Its 7 km long with magnificent views on the water and the old buildings. The pedestrian side is at least 10 meters wide and the cars have 3 and sometimes 4 lanes each way to choose from. For the marathon the entire road is closed down. When the wind and the flood is just right, the waves hit the Malecón and go meters into the air (see here).
If I could redesign this part of the universe I wouldn't change a single thing. This is what it is and this is what it should be. I love this place. Malecón makes me happy.
You can try to catch some fish at the Malecón.
You can hang out with your compadres on the Malecón.
You can watch the sun go down at the Malecón.
You can cruise your Lada down the Malecón.
You can take your loved one to the Malecón.
You can sip Cuba Libres on the Malecón.
You can inhale Cohiba haze on the Malecón.
Whatever you do, make sure you do it.... on the Malecón!

Hello Gilbert,
very nice composition of your photo. I like quite strong line between runners in shadow and sunlit buildings, that is in harmony.

Hi Gilbert,
Seems like a great place to go for a run.....sea air always brings freshness to the lungs. I like the panaramic format as it emphasises the amount of runners first of all and it gices a good representation of the surrounds. The contrast between the road area and the distant hotels/buildings provides a good depth to the image. Well done. PS. Hope you enjoyed the run.
Cheers Grant
