Photographer's Note
These musicians greeted us as we stepped out of the canoe into their village. The flautist is the village elder. The Emberá people live a semi-traditional, semi-modern lifestyle in the jungles of eastern Panama, near the city of Colón. We spent a delightful afternoon with them, listening to their stories, dancing with them, sharing food with them, and learning of their history and culture.
