Photographer's Note

Lake Zell (German: Zeller See; Italian: Lago di Zell) is a small freshwater lake in the Austrian Alps. It takes its name from the city of Zell am See which is located on a small delta protruding into the lake. The lake is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) long and 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) wide. It is up to 69 metres deep and at an elevation of 750 metres above sea level.

The lake is fed by numerous small mountain streams in summer, but only one stream flows out of it into the river Salzach. In winter the lake completely freezes and is used for winter sports. In summer the lake is used for pleasure boating (boats powered by combustion engines are not allowed except for the ferries which cross the width of the lake from Zell to Thumersbach, so "elektroboots" can be hired instead). The water is very clear and suitable for swimming or diving, but can be chilly.

Wonderful landscape! I really love the Austrian and Swiss Alps sceneries. The mountain lakes are just magnetic for me. Perfect quality, fine DoF and marvelous vivid colors.
Good place for some relax after hard work and economic problems.

Hello Georg,

You choose a very well angle with the mountain with snow top between the two other mountains, also the reflections are very well.
Also through the different colours is these picture real a very well picture

Je suis vraiment content que tu n'aies pas trop fait de manipulations sur photoshop pour cette composition à l'état pur. Quel magnifique paysage et quel point de vue très bas , presque au niveau de l'eau.

Charming location and a wonderful picture on the lake, mountains with snowy tops and most importent - the natural colors rendered so beautifully, Georg.

cześć Jurek, jakos zmieniłes software? Kiedys Twoje zdjęcia miały takie piekne czyste kolory, a teraz jest w nich cos niebieskiego. Jakos mi nie leży ta obróbka. ale krajobraz i kompozycja bardzo ładne.
Widzę, że idziesz na łatwizne i piszesz krytyki copy and paste.

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The wideness of the lake is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details og the mountains. The good luminosity is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice dya.
