Photographer's Note

Holy Protection Cathedral was built in honor of the Grodno garrison, the soldiers who died in 1904 – 1905 died during Russian-Japanese war. The architectural style of the cathedral is a retrospective Russian.

In the temple there is a miraculous icon of the Kazan Mother of God and a copy of the cross of the religious and historical figure of the Belarusian land – Eurprosyne of Polotsk. The interior of the cathedral impresses with wooden iconostasis, painted altar and massive carved doors.

A great photo of the cathedral, which you captured very well from the side. The light green and red colours stand out well from the cloudy sky and the sharpness reveals the many fine details clearly.

Czesc Zbigniew,
Akurat Bialorus pojawia sie czesto w mediach, nie tylko polskich ale i miedzynarodowych. Tak wiec fotografia z tego rzadko odwiedzanego kraju jak najbardziej na czasie.
Nawet zastanawialem sie czy zrobic takiej wycieczki do Grodna, podobnie jak bedac w Polsce wybralem sie do Pragi, Drezna czy Lwowa. Niejako "przy okazji". No ale zdaje sie ze tlumy migranotw wlasnie w tych okolicach spaceruje. Kto wie czy to dobry pomysl na obecne czasy. Ty widze ze miales okazje odwiedzic Grodno jeszcze w spokojniejszych czasach.

Część Zbyszek, Bardzo ładny i ciekawy ten kościół. Z tyłu typowe kopuły, a z kolei z przodu wygląda jak dzwonnica ośmiokątna, fajny wzór ścian.
Byliśmy w podobnych miejscach, ale ja na przykład w Grodnie nie byłam. W ogóle jestem z tyłu za Tobą i chyba tego nie nadrobię, teraz trudno o dalsze podróże, jak na przykład do Mongolii czy Kolumbii.
