Photographer's Note

This is one of the bronze statues representing medieval guilds that surround the park of the Petit Sablon in Brussels. In the past it was a square where horse markets were held, but in 1890 it was transformed into this park with trees, flowers statues and fountains. The park is surrounded by a wrought-iron fence decorated with 48 bronze statues. These statues were designed by architect Paul Hankar (1848-1901). Along with Victor Horta and Henry Van de Velde, he is considered one of the most important Art Nouveau style architects in Brussels.
