MIDDELBURG

This is the second picture of this small lake, ideal to visit these rural areas with my neighbour with his car, and take some pictures
Hopefully you can enjoy this visit

Provincial border with East Flanders and the Netherlands, Zeeland, lies Middelburg.
This municipality is part of Maldegem.

Middelburg was built between 1452 and 1465 by order of Pieter Bladelin, governor of the finances of Philip the Good and treasurer of the Order of the Golden Fleece. It included a church, a monastery, a guest house, ramparts, a drainage canal to the Lieve (canal Ghent - Damme) and a castle. A free annual fair was set up from 1465. After the destruction of Dinant by Charles the Bold, Bladelin brought a number of craftsmen from Dinant to Middelburg. This craft gave Middelburg the privileges of Edward IV, King of England, after which a cloth industry was also set up. After the death of Pieter Bladelin, his widow, Margareta de Vageviere, received permission from Charles the Bold to rule over the manor.

lepo jezero i drvece u zimskom danu sa snegom, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i dobrim tekstom.

Hello John,
It looks like a rather cold, maybe wet and unpleasant day, and the sun was far away. And yet you managed to take an attractive photo with pleasant discreet colours. The tree lying in the pond is a good focal point and it is surrounded by fine reflections of the trees still standing.

Dit meertje wordt mooi omringd door een aangenaam laagje sneeuw. De compositie is goed en mooi in balans. De spiegelingen in het water zijn ook mooi.

Hallo John,
Je was vorige zaterdag duidelijk op fotojacht. Beter je kans onmiddellijk benutten dan wachten op een tweede sneeuwdag die misschien niet komt.
Fijn dat je buur toertjes maakt met jou.
De foto is een heel mooie compositie en de weerspiegeling van het kleine eiland met de boom maakt het zicht extra aantrekkelijk.
In de verte wordt het groen van de weide toch nog wat meer overheersend dan de sneeuw.

Hi John,
great winter composition. Not only the snow decorates the ground but also we can see it falling from above when one closely inspects the darer areas of the photo.
The water adds a nice aspect here. Trees so lovely arranged.

A chilly greyish appeal! I like the balance of this composition although the snow is there it does not dominate with nice touch of greenish and brownish creating a subtle contrast. The shiny still reflection is another strong point of this pleasing shot and thanks for making the effort.

Hello John,

Brr! Your scene conjures up a cold atmosphere, with the slender branches and the surrounding grass covered in a thin layer of snow.
I like how attention has been drawn to the half-sunken branch which, with its reflection, resembles a giant squid, or some such mythical beast, rising from the water.
