Photographer's Note

An old warehouse (since then demolished) shows signs of hard work. These warehouses were in use since the days of Napoleon (who had the nearby docks constructed) until a few decades ago, but are now disappearing rapidly, either demolished, replaced or transformed into modern housing and offices.
Why the picture ? I suppose I'm drawn to ruins and abandoned buildings, to sense the past and to preserve its memory before it's all gone. The broken panes offered many tones of grey-brown, the sharpness where one can see through, contrasting with the soft-focus like glare on the smoked glass.
(just sharpened slightly)
