‘Heverlee - Park Abbey and pond’

Continuation of my previous photo about Park Abbey in Heverlee, Greater Leuven, the abbey dating from 1129 that has remained practically unchanged since the 17th century.

Near the abbey are four ponds, located in a straight line. On a map it looks like it is one big pond.
When you have a beautiful autumn day in Belgium, you should take advantage of it. After all, too many autumn days here are dark and wet, although we’re also lucky this week.

Bonsoir Paul,

Les reflets sur l'eau sont des atouts à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'abbaye. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lep refleks na vodi i stara arhitektura na obali, dobro poakzano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i perspektivom.
Dobar rad sa lepim fotografijama u radionici.
Lepa priroda u jesen.
Lepo mesto za setnju sa lepim pogledom.

Hello Paul,
They couldn't possibly imagine postcards when they located and built this abbey, but it is perfect for that purpose. There's not a great difference between this and the WS, but the tones are slightly warmer here, so I guess that qualified it for main post. The reflections are equally perfect in both photos.

Hello Paul,

You have been lucky, the autumnal weather was perfect for a scene like this! The colours and the reflections almost glow! (Isn't it funny how the colour in the reflection always seems deeper than the natural version!)
Just the small inclusion of the f/g branch helps to give contrast and depth.

Any one of your photographs could have been a main post but, being able to see them all, allows us three for the price of one!!!

Did you sample the food in the brasserie?
The setting would have been hard to beat!

Beautiful weather day indeed and you made a perfect use of it. The reflection is amazing and with the light like this the result is so eye catching.
Nice place to walk around. Good combination of architecture and nature.
Yes we have the same actually, sadly the good weather days too often happen in the working week and I am quite busy anyway to get out and capture new photos.
Briliant composition with nice inclusion of the dark tree branches on the right.

Wat was het een schitterend herfstweer hier met helder licht en mooie kleuren. Vooral de combinatie van herfstkleuren en het diepblauwe water is heel mooi. De spiegelingen van de gebouwen en de bomen zijn prachtig en heel aantrekkelijk vervormd.

You made good use of this beautiful autumn day. The colours are spectacular, with the intense blue of the water contrasting with the autumn gold colours. Good composition with the dark leaves on the right adding some interest.

Splendid composition with the magnificent monument, very well positioned next to the pond, the tall trees add beauty and all this enhanced by the extraordinary reflections in the water.
Nice place for the restaurant in one of the abbey buildings, in that nice picture of the WS.
