Photographer's Note

This is the city of Korcula, a magical town in Croatia, placed on the island which shares its name. It is old, very old. The first traces of inhabitation go back to the time of old Greeks, when the place beared the name of Korkira Melania. At that time it was a Greek colony in the Adriatic.

Of course through the centuries the architecture changed quite a bit, so now Korcula has an incentive midevial architecture, and it is a marvelous representative of this stile. All the hauses are inhabitated so you can easily feel the live in tiny and curvy streets.

The locals believe to an interesting legend which makes Italians go mad. The story goes that the great explorer Marco Polo was born in this place. Historians however say that there is no real evidence of his birth place on this island or on any place on the earth anyway...so why not...there is a chance that he was born here.

Thecnical note: The photo has this mystical athmosphere since my CS filter got fogged due to humidity and heat. I noticed a very strange thing in my viewfinder, but when I checked the result it was rather good and I liked it so decided to share it with you. I hope will like it. I have also corrected saturation, higlight and contrast in PS.
