Photographer's Note
This is my first photo from my recent Christmas trip to Prague and Czech Republic.
This is one of the 24 statues from limostone who are standing at the famous Charles IV Bridge at the center of the old city of Prague.
I took this photo at Christmas day with the help of a fine weather (too cold but sunny!).
Some infos about Charles Bridge:
Named after the Emperor Charles IV in 19th century the Charles Bridge is Prague's most familiar monument. Designed by Petr Parler, it was completed in 1400 and it connects the Lesser Town with the Old Town. Although it is now pedestrianised, it withstood wheeled traffic for 600 years. There are thirty statues on the bridge, many of them have been replaced with copies. Originals are kept in the Lapidarium of the National Museum and at Vyehrad. The magnificent Gothic Old Town Bridge Tower was designed by Petr Parler and built at the end of the 14th century. It is considered the finest Gothic tower in central Europe, mainly for its decoration. There are marvellous views of the Vltava river Valley, the ofνn, Stψeleckύ Island, the Old Town and the Lesser Town.

Hello Mpampis. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Prague and brought back some nice photos for us to see. This is a good one to start, with the close-up of the statue on Charles Bridge. The off-centered framing is good, the light worked out in your favor, and the blue sky (lucky you) makes an ideal background.

Beatiful details of the statue and nice background with the blue sky. This statue represents Saint John of Nepomuk. He was killed by the king because refuses to tell the queen's confession. Under the statue there is a bass-relief. It is said that if you touch it its brings good luck.

Great colors, clarity, contrasts and sharpness. Good use of the light wich enhanced the details and textures of the statue.
Also like the slightly uncentered view of the statue placing it a bit to the right. It creates an interesting stress in the composition because by the POV and position of the subject it would have been expect to see it more to the left. Very nice.
