Photographer's Note

Before I visited Prague, I knew it mostly as the place that inspired Kafka. On a rainy afternoon in Prague, which was then slowly awakening from slumber since the blaze was extinguished in 1968's fateful Spring, I sought to discover Kafka. Tourists like myself, eager to make a cheap vacation in eastern Europe, had filled the Zentrum, but the momentary rain made them scurry for refuge in cafes...that was the time for me to take out the camera.
