Photographer's Note
View of the entrance hall in Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen.
When the museum was rebuilt in the 90es the hall was given a cool minimalist treatment to match the new wing. White and eggshell walls, light travertine floor, steel and slate grey furnishings and a few spots of red and black here and there.
At the bottom you see the ticket counter, the scale of which matches the large space it is placed in and relates to the pilasters on the wall behind. The light here is soft and blue fitting the large and serene character of the room.
Through the doors behind the counter you can see a lounge area for wainting and leafing through artbooks lying around there for public pleasure. The furnishing is busy and agitated, bright red swiwelchairs placed under bright contrasty halogene spots. In this space people are waiting in transition and the charater reflecs it.
So in many ways the two spaces are in contrast but they are sill kept together by a common minimalist design language. I think the architect did very well here.

A great use of the difference in light Torben! The desk and all the details on it is a surprise as the first impression is being outside looking in. The people are a nice touch too, life and scale.

those two windows get so much attention by way of the red chairs, I would be very tempted to crop in closer so they get all of the attention they can get. I really enjoy the grain in this image, too.

The red really sticks out here, really well seen and captured, Yes I agree with the previous comment on life and scale. Otherwise it is really good
