Photographer's Note

During the Summer, Saturday nights at Copenhagen's amusement park Tivoli Gardens usually are rounded off by a huge fireworks display at a quarter to twelve. It is discharged from the roof of the concert hall and can be seen from most parts of the central city.

But during the restoration of the concert hall in 2005/2006 the closure show was replaced by a fountain-laser display at Søen [the Lake] near the Chinese Pagoda. This lake is a part of the original moat that once surrounded the then fortified city.

As always the start of the display is regulated by the three quarter chimes from the bell in the City Hall Tower, which is the point from where all distance signs in Denmark are measured.

An amusement park right in the center of the city!!
