Photographer's Note
Some people DO cities and I must admit I did THREE museums in two days when I was in Paris last weekend :))) NO KIDDING. I was also crying a little bit at the end of the day when I returned to my hotel room with feet of an elephant … LOL … instead of a romantic dinner by the Seine I was sitting on my hotel bed watching TV. But I mean when you go through your travel guide there is this endless list of “must sees”. My “did does” were Maison Européenne de Photographie, Musée du Quai Branly and Musé Rodin which I have seen years ago and belongs to my favorites (especially the garden).
This photo was taken in the lower part of Musée du Quai Branly. You are allowed to take photos but with no flash light. The pattern on the floor comes from a light beamer, some sort of slide show. The museum’s website is pretty horrible and does not show what I felt in there, this is why I do not link it. The museum wants to show tribal culture and art of Africa, Oceania and America. It is an amazing museum and my travel guide writes that it is understood as a dialog of cultures and wants less to describe in detail what the single objects mean (this is held to a minimum) but far more they see the display as art as a whole (hard to translate :))) I hope you understand what I write). There are small rooms with music or films, nothing loud but very held back. The rooms are pretty dark with only light on the single objects.
I wonder how the feet of this man did :)))
For TE members something to keep in mind for your next visit (in case you have not been):

Great image, not the usual one...
Have a great week.

Hi, Barbara.
An inventive composition, extremely different from usual and featuring some of the strangest dynamics and light managements I've ever seen. I'm not the most qualified person to discusss this type of photography, but I sure like what I see! Well, sunday's over, have a nice start of the week. I'll see you soon. HUGS,
Fulvio.

hi Barbara,
as with the museums, some photos just ARE, and your's certainly IS :) the feel caught in motion has their own rythm, makes me think how walking around museums is actually more difficult than "hiking" around the city - in the museums you walk, then stop, then walk again, but you don't have that sustainable rythm that propells you forward :) it is very important for me, since I have planned three big-city tours in coming weeks, I ALREADY hear my feet complaining, lol :))
take care,
Kristine

Hi Barbara,
Very imaginative shot that goes so well with your on foot tour of Paris and its lovely musuems.
Wonderful light management and clear focus of these peds in montion.
I suffered bilateral foot drop due to complications to knee replacement surgery 3 years ago and had to relearn how to walk so I'm often found matching strangers feet and how they use them. Something I never noticed in the past.

Hello Barbara,
Thanks for all the advices, but it's too late for me now. I already done it. Well I think what I did turn out okay, I allow myself, one museum only, I find that I can only absorb so much art in 3 days. the other 2 between family and walking around the city. I find walking around is not as tiresome as stop and go like in the museum. There only so much we can do in just a few short days.
I like your composition here, and the light one ground gives an illusion of space and interesting graphic elements and mordern art quality. Have a good morning when you get up.

Hi Barbara, you did 3 museums in 1 day? That deserves a Smiley on its own. But your photo deserves even more. This is a unique POV made even more interesting by the shadows you've captured and the blue tones. I think this is my favourite for the last week at least. Well done and thanks, Lisa.

Hi Barbara,
Love it! The blue-squared light on those moving feets is amazing nice. It creates a very interesting and meaningful subject. It would only be stronger if it was a bare feet and legs, but for that just in a studio picture. B&W would also be a choice here, I guess.

Flavia

Liebe Barbara,
ja, ich verstehe genau, was du sagen willst.

Bonsoir Barbare,
This shot links beautifully with your notes.
Obviously, these feet had not been as active as yours as they did not have elephantine proportions!
A simple shot and, yet, one which carries so much story with its subject and careful composition. The slight movement blur adds a touch of animation. Well conceived.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Thank you for your warm and interesting comments on 'Curves and Shadows'.

Hallo liebe Barbara,
Danke schoen unmfg
MESUT ILGIM
PS.Wann wird Dich Dein Weg in diese Richtung fuehren ?

Hello Barbara,
Reading your note, I realize you took the photo in the ramp of Quai Branly. I just visited this museum 3 weeks ago and I did not think at that time to take this kind of shot: funny idea which is working well.
Even more funny is to look your 3 last shots. 2 are with high point of view (barbara flies) and this last one could not be closer to the floor :-) Will you change your pseudo in TE?
Yves.

Hi Barbara,
A nice composition you made here. Good choice of speed which makes the movement visible (instead of a static shot).
The light is really unusual which gives a great atmosphere to the photograph.
Well done.
Good evening

I like this change of style - the sort of photo I wish I could take but, somehow, never seem to get around too!!! A great vision.
