Photographer's Note

An evening river cruise on the Seine, Paris, on a Bateaux Mouche.

The iconic and unique Eiffel Tower, made of wrought-iron lattice.

Named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.
It took 2 years, 2 months and 5 days to be completed from the first digging work.
Completed on the 31st March 1889.

7,300 tonnes of iron and 60 tonnes of paint!

Hi Jean,a trip on the river of Paris offers uniques and greats opportunities for original perspectives,and this is a great example. Dark light of evening to play so well with the Eiffel tower's silhouette in a perfect sharpness and exposure. In fact is very nice too the effect of tree shadows on the bank walls. Hello Jean,
The light was getting low, and the photo is a bit dark, but after all it was an evening cruise. You captured an iconic building and placed it well towards the side, pointing at a sky filled with very nicely shaped clouds. Regarding WS #2 there was no need for any "simply because" to explain why you posted it. It's a very good composition with its horizontal lines and the trees with their shadows, plus a few persons sitting by the river. It's my favourite of these three photos. I would say it's the best composition. It also has a wonderful light.

Hello Jean,

Indeed an unique image out a nice position.
Low about the Seine with a dark view through the trees.
Happy that the boats have light this care for contrast.
Also the silhouette of the Eifel tower against a nice light cloudy sky
An excellent composition, and good presentation.

and every time I see the unique
Eiffel Tower I feel my heart
so nostalgic....I would like to visit
Paris one more time but for the
present is impossible because
of covid 19

Hello Jean,

Your w/s photograph seems to have been taken earlier than this shot, when the sunlight was evident and was creating the long shadows.
Here the night is drawing closer, the river and the boats are in shadow and already, artificial lights are in evidence.
But ... you still had enough light in the blue sky, for a fantastic silhouetted image of the Eiffel Tower, towering above everything in its vicinity.
I like the mackerel sky, too!

Such a great and iconic view of Paris with the Eiffel Tower well placed off-centred. The silhouette of the structure stands out so well from the sky and clouds. Very well done.

I like how the Eiffel Tower, presented almost as a silhouette, points to the many tiny clouds in that magnificent sky.
Three different subjects for the photos. Difficult to compare but I think you have the most beautiful one as the main photo.

nice these three images, the main post would be nice in BG too.I didn't navigate in the river while there, I hadn't so much time and I prefer to walk..
few days ago a city near mine built a big copy of this tower and drunk people was climbing of them...
