Photographer's Note
I took this image this afternoon in Clermont de l'Oise where I work. Each day I commute there from Paris and this is a shot of some people waiting for the train. I took this shot from above on the overhead walkway that leads to the other platform.
This photo was taken March 16th just a few days after the terrorist attacks in Madrid, where bombs exploded in a train, killing and wounded many innocent victims.(As I am sure many of you have heard). As a result of this attack, there have been some extra security measures taken throughout the rail system in France. In my opinion not enough, they have added some military personal in some of the bigger train stations and have put up some tape to block people from storing their baggage near the end of each train car. Only 5 days later and already most of the tape is gone and there wasn't a single controller on my train. Going into one of the biggest train stations in Paris (there are 6), someone could easily cause the same type of destruction using these trains as what happened in Madrid. Let's hope not.
