Sunrise over Tarn, a photo from Midi-Pyrénées, Sud

Photographer's Note

Europe has been experiencing some very cold weather the past couple of days and much of the news is devoted to the amount of snow which has fallen over many regions. However, down in the South West corner of France (Midi-Pyreneese) the weather has been cold, but also it has been dry and sunny. Early mornings there is a frost coating, some mist in the valleys and the sun rising up over the top of the mist. I just thought that some might enjoy the view as well ;-)

The village from where this picture was taken is not so important (a church and pigonnerie, of which there are many examples in the area).

A bit of a impressionistic painting effect here. Lovely light and colours. It's beautiful but I'm so glad I live in the south. Will never survive without the sun.

Great picture, even the "warm" colors of the sunset feel cold. You've captured the cold feeling very well. Great atmosphere, I like the indistinct horizon, defined only by the sun.

tres belle image qui laisse passer le froid. une saturation un peu poussée mais qui ne nuit pas à la photo.
j'aime beaucoup le degradé de couleurs et le coté paisible de la scene.

Great shot! I like the compression from the telephoto lens, which brings all of the different elements together. The colours in this are just amazing. Perfect timing, catching the sun just as it was going down. Well done!

Nice shot David . Superb contrasts and colors. The image is a bit soft, but it is not disturbing.

thanks (a bit late) for the feed back on the celtel photo.
This is already an 'oldy' of yours, but it did capture my eye. The colors are amazing. I was in the Pyrenees (Lourdes) this weekend and just adore the surroundings. Love this photo. It's indeed both warm and cold as well as misty and clear. great!
