During a flight from Dion to Cannes, we had the opportunity to cross the Alpes via Grenoble and Gap, passing close to the famous "Lac de Serre-Ponçon" located between Briançon and Embrun in the Hautes Alpes.
On the Durance river, it's Europe's second biggest water retainment with 1.2 billions of cube meters producing 10 % of hydroelectric power in France.

It's also a very nice place to enjoy mountain holidays in summer (Scuba diving, trekking, ...) as in winter with famous ski stations all around.
