From Saint Laurent, a photo from Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, Sud

Photographer's Note

At the heart of the old town and built on the site of a pagan temple dedicated to Apollo, the beautiful church of San Lorenzo, pink limestone of the Crown, is the example of Romanesque art of Provence. It is classified as a historical monument with its bell seventeenth century and the adjoining chapel of St. Catherine, from the adjacent square, near the Fort Saint-Jean, you can admire one of the best views of the old port.

This magnificent view, caught from this place, and also you can see in the background the basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde, dominating from the top of the hill.

En el corazón del casco antiguo y construido en el emplazamiento de un templo pagano dedicado a Apolo, la hermosa iglesia de San Lorenzo, piedra caliza rosa de la Corona, es el ejemplo de arte románico de la Provenza. Está clasificado como un monumento histórico con su campanario del siglo XVII y la capilla anexa de Santa Catalina, desde la plaza anexa, cerca del Fort Saint-Jean, se puede admirar una de las mejores vistas del puerto viejo.

Esta magnifica vista, la capté desde este lugar, y tambien podeis ver al fondo la basilica de Notre Dame de la Garde, dominando desde la cima de la colina.

Seen from on the water Marseille looks superb!
A very detailed picture with good clarity, many different colours and bathing in a beautiful, summery, relaxed atmosphere.
The sea and the harbor are extremely important for this metropolis. Your presentation has a nice frame fitting well with the water of the port.

I recognised the scene as Marseilles before even looking at which country it was from, as I had taken numerous shots of the Vieux Port and the Notre Dame last winter, just after Christmas. It's a lovely scene, and I appreciate to see this summer view, with all that white and beautiful blue tones. Very nicely taken and presented.

This is really a bright picture of the old port, boats with long mast were waiting at the port and a beautiful Church on the top of hill under the clear blue sky, I very much like its clarity and well color contrast.

Hola Luís, estupenda vista de la antigua ciudad de Marcella con el puerto en primer plano y la basilica de Notre Dame de la Garde al fondo sobre la colina, muy bien captada con un estupendo pov en esta muy buena y bonita fotografía. Hola luis,
Brightbdaylight enhanced the yellow masts on the marina, and a great view toward town houses and the hilltop's church.
Mingling old and new, vivid colors and fine clarity - culminate to a wonderful photo.

Hi Luis,

It would go without saying, but you have to know I would love this one too! :) Another splendid view of Notre Dame and the hillside, full of activity and life happening along the waterfront in the immediate foreground. A collection of so many details and colors, my eyes are all over the place...but having a great time in the process! :) This particular viewpoint and composition plays a bit of trickery, the boats masts rising higher than the cathedral itself give a false sense of scale...an interesting deception. I see Malgo wrote that Marseille would be worth visiting, and of course...I would fully agree, you've certainly aided in its tourism appeal! Hope you're having a nice weekend. Take good care.

Probablement le plus beau point de vue sur la plus belle ville du sud de la France. Il y a beaucoup de choses à admirer dans cette photo très animée. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs et la lumière.

One amazing image you have produced here, composition is great the way the foreground blue water and boats draw the eye into the shot and naturally extend further away to the eye catching structure on the hilltop. There is sumptuous detail & colours, and the exposure is spot on and your pp is excellent and well managed. Beautiful capture, TFS
