Photographer's Note
For my final series of photos from visits to France I am going to the Dordogne River area where I had my first experience of rural and regional France in 1998.
The village of Beynac sits below the very formidable castle of Beynac. Pathways up to the top of the village and the chateau are steep and narrow, passing between houses dating from the 15th to 17th centuries. Beynac was quite prosperous in Renaissance times as can be seen from the doorway in the photo. Good glimpses can be had along the way of the Dordogne River below.

Hi Ian.
I saw the castle from a distance last year, and very impressive it looked, probably something like La Roque-Gageac, which I did see by walking up the steep lanes for views like these. You did some careful composing for this shot, and you ended up with some interesting angles, and several perspectives. I like the depth of the picture, and the colour tones, which I remember well and which seem very natural. No doubt 12 years after you took this one the view is much the same. Good scan!
Regards,
Andrew

Hello ian,
What a pictoresque place with te narrow path to beneath.
You chose a good angle, we see the river in background, these care for a nice perspective.
Lovely old buildings with the entry of the church
Nice composition, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Good evening Ian,
In spite of the unfavorable weather, the landscape is superb. I appreciate the composition and framing. A very pleasant image of this French area. I hope that you will supplement this series with other voyage in France. Good realization.
Have a good evening
Cordially
Joël
