Photographer's Note

Notre Dame de Rocamadour is a retired lobster boat and part of the fantastic "harbour museum" collection of Douarnenez, a city in the south-west of French Brittany having a major contribution to the national fishing activity and history. You can visit the harbour museum, as well as a tenth of other boats and a very instructive marine museum mainly dedicated to fishing industry.
The ND. de Rocamadour (constructed 1959, retired 1989) fished lobster along the coasts of Mauritania during 3 to 4 months, 2 to 3 times per year. The photo is shot from the foredeck of the boat, where the 10-11 fishermen had their "rooms", just near the ice generators. That made the average temperature in the "room" at less than 10°C, even when sailing in the heat of Mauritanian coasts...
