Photographer's Note
We passed through in Josselin in the rain. We got drenched in the good market and then got wet again wandering down along the river near the impressive medieval chateau so this is the only photo that I took in the town. The current chateau was built in 1370, the original having been built in 1008.
Best in the large view.

Salut Ian,
Belle image ... avec ce château de Bretagne. Interesting architecture and good management for the light capture and the good rendering, difficult weather with this cloudy sky, tfs.

Hello Ian,
The castle looks like it belongs to a fairytale. It's really beautiful. The bad weather didn't harm the photo even though you probably needed some PP to make it look so nice.
Best regards,
Gert
PS Yes the stone foundations of older houses are often painted black in Stockholm, including on my 19th century house.

Hello Ian,
As Gert noted, it looks like a castle from a fairy tale. It moved my fantasy too, now I want to visit this place!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Ian,
I feel so sorry for you!
This is such a beautiful chateau and I know how much you would have enjoyed walking around, finding different angles, if only the weather had been conducive!
However, despite the rain, you have managed to take an excellent, very detailed photograph of the chateau, revealing its situation, close to the river and bridge.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)
Later in the year, the bridge would have been adorned with flower baskets, just to add a bit of colour!

Hello Ian,
The rainy weather does not detract from the beauty of this castle or the photo.
Several nice round towers ending in a point adorn the top of the castle.
Too bad that you cannot have the parked cars towed away :) We also see a bridge in the photo. Did you try that point of view too?
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
A pleasant surprise to see this beautiful castle in Josselin here in your beautiful photo.
I still remember Josselin well, although it was so long ago that only analogue photos could be taken at that time that still have to be in my archive. We also had a lot of rainy weather in Bretagne at the time.
Have a good weekend.
Be careful and stay safe, groet Rob

Hi Ian,
The rain is giving a special mood to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the castle. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
Looks a little like the Hunedoara / Corvin's Castle in west Romania. Good sharpness and a pleasant diffused light as compensation for the overcast and rainy conditions. Tfs!

Hi Ian
wow! i havn't been on TE for about 2 weeks so i've missed many of your posts...but this..wow...this is awesome. the bad weather gave you so much atmosphere, honestly i think it makes the shot better. love the angle you took the photo on too. I would prefer the shot without the modern cars...but what can you do? great one. cheers
Craig
