Story time cathedrals
The visitor of the building site of a cathedral in construction passes in front of stone cutters workmen. He stops near the first:

"That are you doing?"
"I am earning my living!" quietly answers the man, without raising the head. The second stone mason which he questions in the

same way, answers without hesitating: "I am cutting a stone." With the same interrogation, the third answers the visitor: "I am

building a cathedral!"
That one was a companion.
The current cathedral is the result of a work of several centuries, which began around 1200 to be completed in the middle of the

16th century. It constitutes a jewel of the Gothic style, of which it presents all the aspects.

Le visiteur du chantier d'une cathédrale en construction passe devant des ouvriers tailleurs de pierre. Il s'arrête auprès du premier :

"Que fais-tu ?"
"Je gagne ma vie !" répond sobrement l'homme sans relever la tête. Le deuxième tailleur de pierre qu'il interroge de la même façon

répond sans hésiter : "Je taille une pierre." A la même interrogation, le troisième répond au visiteur : "Je construis une cathédrale !"
Celui-là était un compagnon.
La cathédrale actuelle est le résultat d'un travail de plusieurs siècles, qui débuta aux environs de 1200 pour s'achever au milieu du

16e siècle. Elle constitue un joyau du style gothique, dont elle présente tous les aspects.

Best POV chosen Philippe, excelent corner to show the cathedral in full view.
Beautiful many turrets and carved elements in Gothic style. The lady with a child in the cart, gave scale to appreciate the height and siz of the edifice.

sono stato a Troyes, una città bella e affascinate, anche sotto la pioggia, come l'ho vista io.
Simpatica la storia, tre modi diversi di affrontare il lavoro, tre filosofie diverse, ognuna con una sua verità, ma, credo, solo l'ultimo artigiano si rendeva veramente conto di ciò che stava facendo.

You have included a massive amount of details in this one shot! The cathedral looks spectacular, both it its height and its sculptural decoration. I do like that you have helped us to understand its context by including the facing building and, it helps to promote the grandeur of the cathedral by size comparison!
Nice touch of human interest by the mother and child.

A great capture of this magnificent cathedral, a true masterpiece of the Gothic. I like the point of view and the presence of the lady with her pushchair, who help to give a good sense of scale. The light is ideal to bring out the colours and detail in the marvellous architecture.

J'ai bien aimé cette cathédrale. Difficile à prendre en photos avec toutes les maisons qui se pressent autour. Je trouve aussi qu'elle commence à avoir besoin d'amour quand on la regarde de près. J'ai bien aimé l'histoire qui l'accompagne.

La cathédrale est bien placée dans le cadrage. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture de cette partie de la cathédrale de Troyes. La bonne luminosité met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bon dimanche.

Hello Philippe,
This is an excellent composition showing an important part of the magnificent cathedral. I also like the ordinary building across the street, although so totally different. The woman pushing the pram had no idea that she was contributing to a photo for TE, but her red and white clothes and the blue pram add fine colours to the view and she and the child give the composition a well needed human presence. The good light and the natural colours, not overstaurated, are very pleasant.

I think the photo is a little overexposed with the white areas, but what i really enjoy about the scene is how the Cathedral is dominating the block.
everything else in the scene almost appears to be insignificant :)
I like the way you composed the photo to convey that message.

L'habileté de ces gens voici des siècles encore est admirable et ici tu nous présentes un exemple saisissant. L'extérieur de ce transept offre une pléiade de détails beaux et spécialement cettes fenêtres apparemment sont extrêmement belles et remarquables. Dans la photo j'aime le contraste entre la splendeur gothique et les bâtiment fonctionnels d'aujourd'hui.
Une photo, une vue fascinante et une note digne d'être lu!

ce cadrage met bien en valeur la majesté de la Cathédrale, son élégante architecture, ses belles formes et la sveltesse de ses éléments.
En même temps, la combinaison avec la maison à gauche, ainsi que les branches, créent un bon contraste et ajoutent une grande richesse graphique dans la composition.
La lumière et les couleurs sont très bien gérées, et l'image a une grande netteté.

Nicely captured to show how much it is a part of the town. Even the scale fits the town. It doesn't tower above it in way that sets it that much apart. It all comes down to a nice human scale in this quaint street. Well done.
