La ville se situe aux confluents du Loing, du Puiseaux et du Vernisson. Traversée en outre par le canal de Briare, il est si fréquent d'y traverser un pont que certains en ont fait un slogan touristique : « Montargis, la Venise du Gâtinais ».

Bonjour Serge,

Le canal envoie mon regard au loin ce qui donne de la profondeur à la scène. L'effet miroir est un atout à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la façade des immeubles. Même si le ciel semble délavé, les couleurs ressortent bien. Bon dimanche.

Hello Serge,
Excellent idea to include the colourful flower display in the foreground; it helps give the image depth and adds a pleasing splash of contrasting colour along with the blue balcony and shutters. I like this perspective looking along the river with its agreeable reflections.

First I think this is Venice but no you shot it in France, you exhibited your picture very nicely due to place the beautiful flowers in foreground of this frame, nicely shot it with good detailing and well perspective.

belle profondeur de champ avec ces fleurs au premier plan... Sans doute un léger décentrage aurait animer davantage la scène ?

Ah oui ! je reconnais bien ce canal de Montargis. Les habitants se sont modernisés à voir les paraboles.
Les fleurs au premier plan habillent joliment l'ensemble.

Bonjour Serge,
Comparé à Venise, ici c'est très calme. Il ressemble plus à une découverte. Une image que peu ont vu et un canal sans bateaux avec des touristes.
Très beau avec des fleurs rouges au premier plan et un détail sypa sont les trois pigeons sur le petit toit en pente.

You and Philippe seem to have had a monopoly on this pretty place. You have really shown us how the canals relate to the houses and how the flowers are an integral part. On this fine day, the reflections give an amazingly deep dimension to the canal.

The faint, warped reflections in the water is the only effect that gives away the visual the canal is not actually a sheet of glass. Amazing how perfectly calm it appears, which is right in line with the quiet and pleasant atmosphere this scene conveys. With a scattered touch of greenery throughout, and some blue & red in the foreground to contrast the muted tones of the buildings, this little waterway has a touch of life without even a single human presence. Charming! Bonne semaine. Take it easy.

My first idea was about a flood in the city, but I have see this is usual scene for this town. This is very picturesque street, but I think the water add some water indoor and it's good place for mosquitoes too.
Anyway I like this presentation of Montargis.

Joli aspect de Montargis avec ses rues sur l'eau et ses barques fleuries, pas facile à photographier à cause de la lumière forte et l'eau (ciel blanc). J'avais essayé moi aussi et le résultat était assez médiocre.
