I decided to go back again to the bird reserve of Le Teich but early morning to have a better light. Alas, the sun was hidden by the louds, but I was amazed how in less than a week the chicks have grown up, this one is trying his wings, jumping on the nest and flapping his small wings to try to fly.

Well timed photo of the chick making a futile attempt to fly. It will soon learn. I guess you took a lot of photos, probably several per second, to capture this brief moment. The silhouettes of the birds are well seen against the golden reflections in the water.

Hi Claude,

What a pity the sun disappeared behind the clouds but nevertheless you managed a fine action shot here of a seagull chick attempting an early "test flight". I fact, it's a brilliant shot because, although we can't clearly see the colour of the bird, the silhouetted frantic action of the little bird seen against the bright reflections of the sky in the water are terrific - and while the adult bird on the left just stands and watches!

Fantastic!

This is like a Chinese shadow puppet theatre.
The silhouetted birds can easily be recognised and the one that is attempting to fly is full of character!

A very nice capture of the silhouettes of the gulls, their nests and their children. The golden reflections in the water make a great backdrop.

Bien pris ces oisillons avec le dynamisme du à cette prise "en vol". Bon effet de contraste et de silhouettes avec un contraste de lumière bien géré, joli teinte lumineuse et presque dorée pour le fond.

hello Claude, We see a lot of seagulls but very rarely the chicks. Beautiful view of this one trying to fly. Fantastic timing. It was well worth waiting for the right moment (and making many pictures).
