Photographer's Note
This is a sculpture of Jeanne d'Arc or Joan of Arc. It is located on the rue de Rivoli just across the street from the Louvre.
I chose this perspective because I wanted her to seem powerful and above the viewer. So they were forced to look up to her. I also wanted to have the angle of her flag pole mimick the line of the rooftop. I tried to compose the shot so it filled the frame yet let plenty of negative space.

I think you succeeded compositionally. I might like to see a little bit more detail in the shadowed areas. Though having said that, it might actually be distracting.

You made your point Michele. The statue does look majestic and leading. I just did some book reading and watched the movies. It is so touching and moving. Remarkable women. TFS.
