Photographer's Note

Again on my endless journey to find as many things as I can that have a relation to the film "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" I took this shot of a street sign. It is not just any street sign, however. The character "Nino" in the film has the last name Quincampoix. When Amélie goes into the sex shop where Nino works to return his lost book of photomaton pictures, she meets one of his female collegues who tells Amélie that the owner of the book is Nino Quincampoix "comme la rue" which in English means "like the street". Well here is the street that shares a name with the character portrayed by Mattieu Kasowitz.

The shot was taken not far from the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Also on the sign one can see that it was taken in the 4th "arrondissement". Arrondissements are basically different areas of town each with its own mayor. Paris has 20 which spiral out from the center starting near the Louvre.

Postprocessing: Cropping and levels adjustment.
