Photographer's Note
Hunsrückbahn is a short branch line rising from Boppard on the Rhein valley to forested Hunsrück region. The image is not tilted, the gradient is 6% which makes Hunsrückbahn steepest normal gauge adhesion railway north of the Alps. The line was built in 1908 and was originally a rack railway.
Idea for the title came to my mind looking at how well this scene would suit for a model railroad. Scene is simple and visibility is limited behind the rails. Train is short and fits well in limited spaces. And a bird eye view is typical on miniature models. This shot was taken on a chair lift rising to Gedeonseck lookout point.
Please have a look at the large version.

Kari, it's really amazing, but the train itself really reminds me a scale model. Probably it's the light in which you caught it, but it well could be a photo from the Märklin or Rocco catalogue. Very nice to see that red consist in the middle of that naked forest display. I like it!

Terve RailroadTerror !
Here we go again, I like the wide panoramic framing and it's fun you have it climbing the German heights like a Swiss cogwheel railway !!!
Have a nice day,

Hello Kari,
I like the image of this train going through this forest with skinny trees with no leaves. Thanks for your critiques - always useful. If you don't mind I would like your critique on my latest posting (Neuschwantein Castle) that was scanned from an old negative film. Warmest regards. Latiff.

Hi Kari!
Excellent composition and beautiful, almost panoramic framing. I like the way you put the train in the left side of the picture leaving it place to "move". Great light managment and colours. Congratulations

Kari, your title made me smile. Obviously model train was one of my hobbies when I was an adolescent and now I see my son going through the same. Your presentation with the tilt to the left looks very interesting and gives a feeling of ... Oooops, I just read your note - no tilt! Unbelievable! 6% degree is a real challenge.

Hi Kari
Really looks like a model train from your pov. I'm presently working on a model train layout in my basement. Size of it is about 10 feet long by 5.5 feet wide. I'm thinking of posting photos of it on TE.

A lovely play with proportions here. I dig the combination of this tough diesel outfit and the still a bit bare landscape. Very nice note too.
Have a fine weekend,

Hi Kari,
Amazing gradient.
It's a pity the landscape is not so green; it would make a nice contrast with the red-and-white/gray train.
About the title, it is appropriate; it recalls me the first critique to my San Diego trolley post "Red Train on Orange Line", and your reference to it as Simcity game.
Regards,
Francisco
