Photographer's Note
Fortress has many gates, you might want to show them.
Würzburg is a city in the region of Franconia, Northern Bavaria, Germany. Located on the Main River, it is the capital of the Regierungsbezirk Lower Franconia. The regional dialect is Franconian.
Marienberg Fortress is a prominent landmark on the left bank of the Main river in Würzburg, in the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany. The mighty Fortress Marienberg is a symbol of Würzburg and served as a home of the local prince-bishops for nearly five centuries. It has been a fort since ancient times. Most of the current structures originally were built in Renaissance and Baroque styles between the 16th and 18th centuries. After Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden conquered the area in 1631 during the Thirty Years' War, the castle was reconstructed as a Baroque residence. After it ceased to serve as residence of the Bishops of Würzburg, the fortress saw repeated action in the wars of the late 18th and 19th centuries. Festung Marienberg was severely damaged by British bombs in March 1945 and only fully rebuilt in 1990. Today, it houses two museums.

Witaj Krzysztof,
A more sombrely decorated gateway this time. I like the point of view and the repeating arches; one wonders what lies on the other side of the tunnel. The image is very nicely illuminated and has excellent colours and clarity. Very good rendering of the textural detail in the walls and the cobbled pavement.

Bonjour, cher Christophe,

Amicalement

Hello Krzysztof,
Superb sharpness for the many details of the brick walls. The light is pleasant and creates a nice play of shadows on the arch and walls too. I like the composition including the wall on the left hand side as a lead-in towards the arch.

Hi Krzysztof
Fine shot highlighting qualities of the medieval gate from the cobbled foreground right through end of the opening with the archway extends the feel of depth thru the narrow alleyway. This is perhaps most impressive preserved old architecture, mixture of tones, colors, shades and shadows have worked really well here A fine image with great interest and content so well shot, Congrats, Tfs

Hello Krzysztof.
Sensational composition with this wide door, the succession of arches, gives a nice perspective to the image, like stone walls give a good texture, like the cobblestones.
Sharpness, lighting, color, POV chosen, and the magnificent composition; all factors are perfectly made.
You have a good day.
Best regards, my friend.
Luis.

Hello Krzysztof,
Excellent clear and sharp picture of this old fortress gate.
From this point of view the fortress seems impregnable.
