A view of some houses lining the river Regnitz in Bamberg.

Bamberg is a town in Upper Franconia, Germany, on the river Regnitz close to its confluence with the river Main. A large part of the town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, primarily because of its authentic medieval appearance.

The town has a long history, in 1973 it celebrated the 1000th anniversary of its founding. However, it was first mentioned in 902, having grown up around the castle Babenberch which gave its name to the Babenberg family. On their extinction it passed to the Saxon house. The area was Christianized chiefly by the monks of the Benedictine Fulda Abbey, and the land was under the spiritual authority of the Diocese of Würzburg.

A very nice photo taken from what I imagine is a favourite point for visitors to this charming city with its beautiful cathedral. I was here 47 years ago and took this photo from probably more or less the same place. It could be interesting to compare them.

Your lovely picture shows that not only the special buildings but also the ordinarily houses of a town are an attractive object for interesting pictures. I like these small variations in the architecture of these house along the river. A rather small variating but it prevent that the view is boring.

The terraced houses, tall and elegant, with terracotta roofs are just asking to be photographed and, with the added features of the water and the reflections, how could you resist!
Your viewpoint creates an irresistible lead line.
It's a beautiful shot, benefitting hugely from the light which creates these rich reflections and creates super f/g contrasts.

I like the reflections on the water. The distance between the two shores is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the houses and buildings. The good luminosity is making the colours to stand out. Have a nice day.

There are many pictures of Bamberg on TE, but this is one of the best, in my opinion.
Nice diagonal with the row of buildings and the river. The portion of nature is a good complement to the composition.

Ahh that's a lovely, bright, striking photo. The reflections are magnificent and I really like the textures and saturation of the red roofs. A Teutonic Venice, what's not to love?

very fine picture from Bamberg showing even a relection picture in your gallery. Very good composition, fine colors and excellent sharpness. We must have chance to get perfect mirror shot because the water will have to be really calm. :) Very good contribution toTE.TFS.
