Photographer's Note
Regensburg is a city in south-east Germany, situated at the confluence of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers. With over 140,000 inhabitants, Regensburg is the fourth-largest city in the State of Bavaria after Munich, Nuremberg and Augsburg. The city is the political, economic and cultural centre of Eastern Bavaria and the capital of the Bavarian administrative region Upper Palatinate.
The medieval centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a testimony of the city's status as a cultural centre of southern Germany in the Middle Ages. In 2014, Regensburg was among the top sights and travel attractions in Germany. It was known in English as Ratisbon until well into the twentieth century. The city is still known as Ratisbonne in French and as Ratisbona in Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
During the Second World War Regensburg was home to both a Messerschmitt Bf 109 aircraft factory and an oil refinery, which were bombed by the Allies on August 17, 1943, by the Schweinfurt-Regensburg mission, and on February 5, 1945, during the Oil Campaign of World War II. Although both targets were badly damaged, Regensburg itself suffered little damage from the Allied strategic bombing campaign, and the nearly intact medieval city centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

War-what is it good for? Absolutely nothing (except that it make some men rich.)Good to read that the city was spared, unlike what the germans did to Warsaw.Stunning architecture, colours and all the embellishments. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Stephen,
This is a remarkable architecture's design, well maintained and painted with agreeable beige color.
The veranda with people is a nice eyes-catching object, and yet - I look at the whole, its concaved shape and brown small balconies, and the staues on the top floor - all beautifully culminate on a wonderful photo.

Hello Stephen,
Looking at the thumbnail I thought maybe this was a reflection captured in a lake or river. Now I see that the distorted façade was actually the architect's intentions. It's a quite fascinating building, its original style enhanced by the bland facades on each side. Having a beer on the balcony wouldn't be a bad idea on a hot day.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Stephen,
I was immediately attracted by the concave nature of the facade, its attractive colouration and those beautiful windows; those in the centre look to have an unusual cross shape, almost like posing arms rather than horizontal cross shapes!
Who wouldn't want to relax on that lovely balcony!
A fine exposure showing excellent sharpness to the details.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
Cool but sunny today in N.W. England

Hi Stephen,
The presenc eof the people is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the facade of the building. The good luminosity is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Stephen,
Cette maison doit se démarquer de nette manière sur ses voisines. Le jaune est fort et loin d'être discret , mais on dirait que la maison brille sous la lumière. Très belle architecture.

Hello Stephen,
What a beautiful house with a very appealing yellow colour. The cafe on the balcony looks so inviting to have some refreshments while looking out over life in the street. I like that you included the three names as well in the bottom part of the picture.

Hi Stephen
wow, I want a house that looks like this :)
i can see people eating, i wonder how exclusive or expensive it is to eat at this cafe? Often places like that have very high prices, and the outdoor seating is hard to get, but I think i see a couple of empty spaces. love the yellow, and the way the building goes IN and then OUT on the ends. very cool. cheers

Hello Stephen,
I had my eye on a stopover in this town between Munich and Prague but in the end I opted for an express train trip. Maybe next year? So fortunate that this town was spared the wreckage of Dresden, Hamburg, Warsaw, Rotterdam and many other European cities. Tfs!

Hi Stephen
This building reminds me of the Gaudi's designs.
The facade is beautiful and interesting, with striking colours and details, as are these balconies.
Kind regards
