Another Old Baking House, a photo from Nordrhein-Westfalen, Ouest

Photographer's Note

This is one of the numerous old baking houses here in my region. This one is situated in a group of houses (a farm and forester's house) surrounded by forests in an altitude of about 580 m. It recently was reconditioned. Using the map "view" function at the left you can see it's situation shown by the marker there. Zooming in by clicking at + you can see that it's nearly hidden by the trees around.
Many of the today's villages here in southern Westphalia are in possession of those baking houses. I love them ...

In the foreground of my photo you can see one of the victims of the hurricane Kyryll which raged here last January. It's the very old gnarled oak which stood next the baking house - a wonderful "team" which was pictured in many calendars and illustrated books.
In the background you can see some hikers who are resting here. This baking house is situated next to the very popular hiking trail "Rothaarsteig".

Hi Frank,
The fine pattern on the slate roof gives another dimension to the perspective here. The person in red jacket adds a vitality to the photo and is a natural eye catcher. Altogether a very fine photo with an interesting note, it would be very nice to walk along 'the Rough Wooded Hills' in autumn.

Bonjour, cher Frank,
Cela évoque la "petite maison dans la prairie". Endroit se prêtant au calme et à la détente.
Curieuse et amusante maison pourvue d'un bûcher (est-ce lié à la chute du vieux chêne) !
Je trouve très agréable pour les excursionnistes de pouvoir faire une halte dans un endroit aussi charmant.

Elles ont beaucoup de charme ces maisonnette à colombages et on été très bien restaurées. Une très bonne lumière sur celle-ci avec ces couleurs d'automne dans les arbres.

Hallo Frank,
einfach sehr schön gelungen. Das Lichtspiel auf dem Backhäuschen mit der herbstlichen Stimmung drumherum gefällt mir sehr. Ein "schlicht" schönes Foto. "Leider scheint mir das Dach ein Kunstschieferdach zu sein. Das tut dem Schieferliebhaber weh."
Nachtrag: Dann habe ich mich zum Glück sehr getäuscht und bin erleichtert, dass es nur ein Irrtum meinerseits war. Mir ist es echt deutlich lieber.

You can maybe this small baking houses placing in my garden Frank, this is absolutely a nice house with the wood already against the wall ready for use.
We see end of the garden the people enjoy of the last autumn days, nice composition too.

a backhaus..for baking bread...strange it is on its own but i read in your notes the good times to be had there as well.
my friend was a baker and i used to visit in the bakehouse early in the morning..they started at 05:00
he said if he was ever stuck in a town overnight he would go to the bakehouse for warmth and food
that was in 1958..maybe things have changed now
plent of fuel still there at the ready

pretty frame that gives a good perspective to this old house, with a smooth light and attractive shades, that form a very pleasant composition, surrounded by nature and with people enjoying the place.

Hallo Frank. Ich staune immer wieder über Deine Motive und Deine Entdeckungsfreude. An vielen Motiven geht man achtlich vorbei, weil sie einfach dazugehören und man ihnen keinen besonderen Wert (auch als Photo) beimißt. Aber Deine Photos zeigen, dass diese Motive manchmal Edelsteine für die TE-Welt sind. Zu den sehenswerten Motiven gehört auch das Backhaus. Eigentlich ein Relikt aus der Vergangenheit. Aber genau das macht den Reiz der Aufnahme aus. Sehr schön. Viele Grüße, Wolfgang.
